OTDI PREDICTION OF RESERVOIRS

Optimization technology of dynamic interpretation (OTDI) consists of geoacoustic modeling based on logging data, procedures to increase the quality of seismic time sections (directional fan filtration, stratigraphic deconvolution) and original programme of seismic wave inversion. OTDI is characterized by a high reliability of evaluation of acoustic parameters due to the matching of details of seismoacoustic models with the quality of initial data.

The processing of seismic time sections with OTDI programmes results in acoustic stiffness sections (Figs 1,2). The sections together with well logging data are used to compile the prediction maps of effective thickness (H ef), Fig.3, porosity factor, Pf (Fig. 4) and linear capacity C=Pf  x  Hef of reservoirs.

These data are used for the optimum location of new wells and estimation of oil and gas reserves.
